Two weeks in the package

Then it wouldn't stop raining.

He was boarded at another fellow's place about an hour away. It was raining like crazy, and I didn't want to drive over there and pull him in and have him standing there soaking wet for it. So the VIBE sat in its package. A couple of weeks went by.

And then one day I looked at it sitting there and thought — why am I not trying this on myself?

I pulled it out, stuck it down in my waistband for my lower back, and went about my business. A little while later I got up out of the chair.

I stood there. I couldn't believe it. That was the moment for me — that was the miracle. My lower back had been part of my life for a long time and it just… wasn't, right then.

The one I had to tell you about

Maureen.

This one wasn't even my horse. She was in the barn.

A two-year-old Standardbred in training. She had hock problems — an OCD lesion on each hock. They took her in, took the OCDs off, and sent her home for six weeks of rest and relaxation.

She walked into that stall, came out of the anesthetic, and there was no rest for anybody.

She was kicking the walls. Tearing the place up. She knocked tongue-and-groove boards clean out of the wall. She was, honest to God, tearing the barn down. And every minute of it, she was one bad landing away from ending her own career.

I said to Anne — she owns the filly, she's also my son's girlfriend — you have got to find something. She is going to hurt herself. You are never going to get her back to racing.

And Anne said, well, maybe we should try the VIBE.

I said good idea. But forget putting it on her. She won't stand still for anything. She'd eat it.

So we put it in the water instead.

My son had two VIBEs. We took a glass bottle of water, held the VIBE against the bottle, and infused it. We picked three protocols and thought hard about why: Anxiety, because that's obvious. PMS, because she's a two-year-old filly and we couldn't rule out the hormonal piece. And PTSD, because of the surgery.

He made one bottle a day. Half of it went over her sweet feed in the morning, half of it went over her feed in the afternoon. Just poured it right over the top — didn't even mix it in. She ate every bit of it.

We went with feed instead of the water bucket on purpose. You can never tell how much a horse is going to drink, and there was an automatic waterer in that stall anyway. But if you give her a half bottle over her feed, she's got all of it. They're often better eaters than they are drinkers.

The next morning there were crickets.

I walked into that barn expecting the noise, and there was nothing. Silence. I actually said to my son — and it wasn't funny at the time — well, did she kill herself in that stall?

He said nope. She's just getting her medicine. And he was so pleased with himself I couldn't stand it.

She was as quiet as a little mouse.

The only time I ever heard her again was when they ran late with the afternoon feed. She'd start kicking if she didn't get it on time. That's how I knew for certain it was working — she told us. It held for a good eight hours every time.

I've tried the titanium masks. I've tried all of it. That filly was either going to tear the barn down or ruin herself, and instead she stood there quietly for six weeks and healed.

She's back at the track. She's raced. I never in my life thought she'd race — she'd have been way too tough on herself.

Closer to home

My son carries his on a lanyard, same as me.

He has glaucoma. They were having a real problem keeping the pressure in his eyes where it needed to be, even on three different medications.

I was a total pain in the tail when I first became an affiliate — I asked for everything, and I kept every printout. So I had the protocols written down. He runs four of them.

The pressure in his eyes has been lower than it's been in years. Does it work? Well — he's not about to take it off and find out. Something is working, and it hasn't been that low since we started. He doesn't go anywhere without it.

And then there was my own heart.

I was on a GLP-1. Every time I got to a certain point, if the dose was too high, I'd go into AFib. My Apple Watch kept telling me — more often, more often, fifty percent. I sat there trying to work out what on earth was doing it. It was the GLP-1.

The only thing that brought me back to normal was the VIBE, on the vagus nerve. I ran vagus nerve constantly. There wasn't a dedicated setting on the device yet back then, so I ran Alpha and Theta.

It brought me back every single time.

Here's what I'd say to you.

You can use it on your dogs. Your cats. Your horses. None of them know what it's supposed to do.
