of dogs showed measurable improvement on a 23-question comfort and calmness survey.
All 25 — every one reported better by the person who knows them best.
In their own words
Every quote is verbatim from an owner's post-study survey. Arthritis, post-surgical recovery, anxiety, old age — the same things you're worried about.
Less pain, moving better
14 of 25 owners
"She no longer hesitates to get up and move. In the past we have had to literally pick her up and she would gently growl. She now lets us know when she wants to go out by getting up and moving toward the door."
Poppy — French Bulldog, 9
"At its worst, I have seen him in pain that was a 9 or 10. I do believe the Vibe pushed him farther and faster than he could have accomplished with time and PT alone. Now I can see his spark is back."
Koda — Black Lab, 7
"No longer favoring either rear limb when using the stairs. His paws are no longer red nor inflamed."
Art — mixed breed, 5
"Violet has enjoyed 1/2 mile walks daily and is no longer dragging at the end of the walk."
Violet — English Labrador, 8
Playing again, more energy
10 of 25 owners
"She has more energy. It is like she is 2 years old again."
Louise — Carolina Dingo, 10
"Significantly improved energy, longer walk duration. Charlie will even explore the yard on his own without prompting!"
Charlie — Lab, 13
"He will get his version of zoomies and throw toys across the room and pretend to kill them."
Chief — Lab/Beagle/Hound, 8
"Much more energy the last 5 days. Walks are better. He has started to trot a little and played this week."
Watson — Springer Spaniel, 14
Calmer, less anxious
11 of 25 owners
"We even stopped his trazodone in the evenings because he was so mellow with the vibe."
Weston — Belgian Malinois mix, 10
"Has not been reactive towards any dogs this past week, even when another dog aggressed him at the veterinary hospital."
Art — mixed breed, 5
"The anxiety selection calmed him during big thunderstorms."
Marshal — Chesapeake Bay Retriever, 13
"Before we leave for work or before bed, we turn the vibe to vagus nerve and he goes right to sleep."
Chief — Lab/Beagle/Hound, 8
Easy, fast, and no new drugs
3 dogs reduced or avoided medication · 4 owners saw a change within one to two weeks
"Ability to help him feel better without adding extra meds to his system."
Bear — Lab/Chow, 15
"Easy to use, tolerated well by Poppy, I noticed changes happening within a week."
Poppy — French Bulldog, 9
"I loved how simple it was to turn on the Vibe and do something that evidently benefited Reese. It's a small change that made a huge difference!"
Reese — Golden/Bernese mix, 12
"I might not understand the exact science of it, but it is very obvious that it is helping him. He loves wearing it."
Chief — Lab/Beagle/Hound, 8
The survey, before and after
Comfort — pain, stiffness, mobility
Calmness — anxiety, restlessness, settling
Overall quality of life
Owner-scored, 1 to 10, average of 25 dogs after 30–60 days of VIBE at home. Comfort improved 24%. The overall change was statistically significant (p = 0.004). Only 8 dogs scored "little or no problem" at the start; after VIBE, 18 did.
dogs in less pain, less stiff, or moving better
dogs calmer or less anxious
dogs with more energy and play
dogs sleeping better at night
The collar confirmed it: calmer hearts, better-regulated nervous systems
Every study dog wore a MiniTailz biometric collar the whole time. For these dogs the physiology matched the owner's story: resting heart rate down, heart rate variability up — the signature of a calmer, better-regulated nervous system.
Bear
"Ability to help him feel better without adding extra meds."
Maximus
"The 'Wound Healing' setting was great for that!"
Diesel
"More playful and more enthusiastic with walks. Restful sleep."
Watson
"He has started to trot a little and played this week."
Why every owner said "better" — even the ones whose numbers barely moved
Dogs adapt fast. A dog that loses a leg doesn't dwell on it — within days, three legs is simply the new normal. Owners adapt right alongside them, and so do people: a month into feeling better, most of us have forgotten how bad we felt.
So when an owner rates their dog "this week," they're comparing to last week, not to the day they started. Most of these dogs had lived with their condition for years. That's why the improvement shows up where owners see it — getting up, walking, playing, sleeping through the night — more than in a survey score or a resting heart rate. The 72% is the conservative number. The 100% is what the owners actually saw.
Get exactly what the study dogs used
Every study dog went home with three things: a VIBE, a vest to hold it at the chest, and a MiniTailz collar that recorded heart rate, sleep, and activity the whole way through. You can get all three as one system — or start with the VIBE and a vest or bandana.

Run at a veterinary rehab practice, on dogs that needed help
The study was conducted at PrimePet Rehab under the direction of Tom Walsh, DVM, whose patients are mostly older dogs with chronic joint pain, post-surgical recovery needs, or anxiety — dogs whose owners are looking for something that works alongside physical therapy and doesn't add more drugs.
Thirty-one dogs enrolled in spring 2026. Each owner scored their dog on the Canine Comfort & Calmness Index — 23 questions on pain, mobility, anxiety, and sleep — then went home with a VIBE, a vest, and a MiniTailz collar. After 30 to 60 days of home use, they scored their dog again. Twenty-five completed both surveys. All twenty-five reported a benefit.
This was not a hand-picked group. Several dogs were on pain medication, physical therapy, or supplements. They were real rehab patients, ages 5 to 15, most between 10 and 14.
- 1Pick a protocolArthritis, Anxiety, Relax and Balance, Vagus Nerve, Sleep, Wound Healing — 60 to choose from, built in.
- 2Slip it into the vest or bandanaIt sits at the chest, over the heart and vagus nerve — the placement used in the study.
- 3Press play and let your dog relaxAbout 40 minutes. Many dogs fall asleep wearing it. Most owners run one or two sessions a day.
- 4Watch for the changeFour study owners noticed a difference within one to two weeks. Arthritis and long-term conditions keep improving over several weeks.
Why a Space Shuttle engineer built a device for dogs
I spent my career as a Space Shuttle Chief Engineer, where you don't get to say something works — you have to show it. When I built the VIBE, I used it on myself first, then on my own dogs. Tens of thousands of people use it now. But "my dog seems better" isn't proof. So I asked a veterinarian to run a real study, on real patients, and I put the results in front of you — every quote, every number, including the ones that didn't move much.
If it doesn't help your dog, send it back. That's the deal.
What this study is — and isn't
It is a real-world trial in real rehab patients, run through a veterinary practice, with owners scoring their own dogs on a structured survey before and after, and a wearable collar recording physiology the whole way through. The improvement was statistically significant.
It isn't a placebo-controlled trial. There was no comparison group, and owners knew their dog was using the VIBE. A controlled follow-up is already planned. We'd rather tell you that here than have you find it out later.
Questions dog owners ask us
Vest or bandana — which one should I get?
The vest is what the study dogs wore. It's the better choice for daily sessions, active dogs, and anything involving the back end or hips. The bandana is quicker on and off and ideal for calm-down sessions on the couch, storms, car rides, and smaller dogs. Plenty of owners keep both.
Will my dog mind wearing it?
The VIBE makes no sound and no vibration your dog can feel — it produces a gentle pulsed electromagnetic field. Study owners repeatedly said their dog tolerated or enjoyed it: "He loves wearing it." "He will fall asleep while wearing it." "He doesn't mind wearing it at all."
How fast will I see results?
Four owners in the study reported changes within one to two weeks. Calming effects are often visible in the first few sessions. For arthritis and other long-term conditions, owners described steady improvement over the 30 to 60 days.
My dog is on medication. Can I use VIBE?
Yes. VIBE is drug-free and used alongside existing care. Three study dogs reduced or avoided additional medication during the study — but always make medication changes with your veterinarian.
What if it doesn't work for my dog?
Send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. No forms, no restocking fee.
Do I need the MiniTailz collar, or just the VIBE?
The VIBE does the work. The collar is how you see it. In the study it recorded resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, and activity around the clock — that's where Watson's 81 → 75 and the +25% HRV came from. With the Dog Wellness System you get the same view of your own dog: a PRANA daily score that shows whether things are moving before you'd notice it yourself. If you just want the therapy, the VIBE + Vest Bundle is the study setup minus the readout.
Can I use the same VIBE on myself, my cat, or my horse?
Yes. It's the same device. Wear it in a pocket or on a lanyard for yourself, lay it in your cat's bed, or use the EquiVibe band for horses.
Twenty-five owners were asked. Twenty-five said better.

Study results are from a single-arm, open-label observational study of client-owned dogs conducted at PrimePet Rehab (Tom Walsh, DVM), March–September 2026. Outcomes are owner-reported via the Canine Comfort & Calmness Index and free-text survey responses; there was no control group. Quotes are verbatim from post-study surveys and used with participant consent. Heart-rate figures are from MiniTailz biometric collars comparing each dog's pre-therapy baseline week to its final two weeks; individual results vary.
