A Resona Health Origin Story
Her mother is not the holistic one.
Jackie O. is. Which is what makes it strange that her mother is the one who found this — and why Jackie no longer takes anything to fall asleep.
Jackie’s story, in her own words
Jackie O.
Jackie is the one in her family who wants to know every way the body might heal itself. She reversed high cholesterol on a plant-based diet. She reads about natural supplements the way other people read the news.
Her mother is not that person. By Jackie’s own description, her mom is not usually into anything holistic at all.
Which is why it is strange that her mother is the one who found it. She came across a book on Amazon — Go Find Joy — and sent it to her daughter.
Jackie read it. What landed was not a promise. It was a comparison.
“I saw how it uses the same technology as an MRI machine and a pacemaker — and that technology is sound — so I decided to go for it.”
Jackie O.
Then the sentence that gets said, in some form, by almost everyone who ends up here:
“I mean, if it’s fake, I can return it.”
She noticed it straight away
Not on the sleep protocol. On the vagus nerve one.
“I noticed that after ten minutes of using the vagus nerve setting that I was sleepy already. I thought, holy smokes, this is actually legit.”
Jackie O.
Then she tried it on her son, who has ADHD. He was already medicated that day — she says she probably did not need to put it on him at that point. Partway through, he looked up at her.
“Mom, I’m getting really tired.”
“Okay,” she told him. “Let’s try it on a day when you’re not medicated.”
Two people in one house, feeling something they were not looking for. That was enough for Jackie to take it seriously.
What she had already tried
Jackie’s insomnia was situational. She is clear about that — it belonged to a stressful stretch in her life, and the sleeping medication was how she was getting through the nights while she was in it.
What she wanted was to not need it. Before the VIBE, here is what she had already tried for sleep:
- Doubling up on melatonin
- Valerian root
- Magnesium
- Other supplements, and a couple of other approaches besides
None of it got her off the prescription.
With the VIBE, she says she saw improvement almost right away — inside the first week. So she ran the experiment she had been wanting to run: let’s see what happens if I quit taking my medication.
“I was able to just sleep through the night. So that was it.”
Jackie O.
She has been telling anybody who will listen ever since.
What she actually runs — including the part that did not work for her
Here is where Jackie’s story stops sounding like an advertisement.
“You know what’s weird, is I don’t feel like the sleep protocol works as well for me.”
Jackie O.
The device has a protocol named Sleep. It is the obvious one. It is not the one she reaches for.
What she uses most before bed is brainwave alpha — because of what she read about how the brain settles: you start in alpha as you are lying there winding down, then move to theta, then to delta. Alpha is the doorway. That is the one she runs.
And when something genuinely stressful has happened — one of those days where you are still keyed up about it twenty-four hours later — she runs PTSD. She had a hard family situation about a month before this interview. She put the device on while still wound tight.
“I couldn’t believe it. By the end of the session, I felt relaxed and was actually laughing. I thought, oh my gosh, this is so powerful.”
Jackie O.
What Jackie reaches for
- Brainwave Alpha Most nights, before bed
- PTSD After a day that will not let go of her
The skeptics in her own house
Jackie is not preaching to a converted audience. She gets, in her words, a mix of skeptical and open — because she has a mix of friends.
Her husband thinks it is fake. That is the big one, and she is still working on him. She got him to try it for the first time the day before this interview. She used her own interview time to ask Mark Fox what he should run; he told her relax and balance, and vagus nerve. Too early to say anything more than that.
Her aunts think it is woo woo. So Jackie sends them PubMed articles. She found a meta-analysis covering PEMF studies going back to the 1970s and sent that on too. “This is well-researched,” she tells them.
Her pediatrician got asked about it directly. What came back was not an endorsement — it was a reminder:
“Hey, remember that our bodies run on electrical signals.”
As Jackie recalls her pediatrician’s reply
The pediatrician also made a point Jackie repeats: acupuncture was only recently demonstrated in studies — not because it did not work before, but because that kind of study is hard to set up.
And then there was the bartender in Wisconsin. He mentioned he had insomnia. Jackie did what Jackie does now.
“Dude, try this, because it worked for me.” She told him she had been desperate for anything that was not medication.
“You don’t have to twist my arm. Just tell me what it is and I’ll get it.”

What Jackie cannot prove
She was asked whether she had wearable data — an Apple Watch, a Fitbit, anything tracking her sleep before and after.
“Shockingly, no. So I have no data except for knowing that I quit taking my sleeping medicine and was able to still sleep.”
Jackie O.
That is the whole of her evidence, and she says so without dressing it up. One person, no charts, no baseline. A prescription she was taking, and then was not taking, and the nights still worked.
It proves nothing about anyone else. It is simply what happened to her — which is exactly why she is willing to put her name on it.
